About the "Pisanu Law" - Italian Anti-Terrorism Legislation

In 2005, the Italian government passed a group of laws designed to prevent the use of public telecommunications and Internet facilities being used by terrorists. These laws were named after the Interior Minister who wrote them (Mr. Pisanu), and who pushed this legislation through in advance of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.

The Pisanu Law requires that all people who use a public Wi-Fi access point must register with the owner of that access point and provide an official government-issued identification document (such as a passport or ID card). Moreover, the HotSpot owner must keep a photocopy of this ID on file for each person who uses his/her HotSpot.

The law further stipulates that a unique access code must be given to each user, and that each access code may be used by only one person.

Free-hotspot.com has developed our Wi-Fi access code system to comply with this law, and we respectfully ask for your cooperation and your patience in helping us meet these requirements.
